Loris, SC    A gentle morning breeze pickup it’s intensity and the winds at Woodland Valley make conditions difficult for scoring at the CCAGC event on Saturday.  On this day, the person who broke par with their net score would have a great chance of winning this event.  In the end only 2 players were able to do so and they finished 1^st and 2^nd in the event.  Wayne Darnell posted a gross 82 for a net 70 (2 under) to capture his 1^st title of the 2008 season and 3^rd overall since the CCAGC began in 2006.  Multiple CCAGC event winner and 2006 Club Champion,  Gene Falls,  finished second with gross 84/ net 71.  In 3^rd place was Ziggy Hathaway with a net 72 and his 2^nd straight top 10 finish..  Tied for 4^th/5^th was Dan Wims and Joe Conti with net 73’s and in a five way tie for 6^th place with net 74’s were Chris Gibson, Tom Capowski, Walt Woodall, Mac Daniels, and Al Hunter.

Only 4 skins were won on this windy day and paid 45.00 each.  Winners were Pat Jones,  Al Hunter, Lee Wilson and Walt Wysk.

 

Closest to the Pins Winners:  A: Flight, Bob Hansen.   B Flight:  Micheal Sachwald,  C Flight:  Sean O’Brien  and the Full Field Par 3 winner was Tim Tarlton.  Each CTP was worth 45.00.

 

Low Gross of the Day was once again, Phil Pfieffer with a gross 78.  For his efforts he won a World Am Drawing ticket for a chance at winning the free 2008 entry into the World Am Championship later this year here in Myrtle Beach.
